 Standard motor mounts are nothing more than a few pieces of steel and some studs held together by soft, vulcanized rubber. Sure, they're cheap and they isolate the rest of the rig from engine vibration, but longevity is not exactly their strong point, especially when oil and grease deteriorate the rubber. Pretty soon engine torque rips the mounts apart, causing clutch linkages to fall apart. Solid motor mounts last forever, but they also cause other parts to break from the lack of movement that's necessary when the frame flexes, and the vibrations transmitted can rattle your teeth out. Polyurethane is an ideal material for a mount because it can reduce vibration and is unaffected by oil and grease, but it is difficult to bond to steel. But now Daystar has come up with a special Bomb Proof Motor Mount made especially for the Jeep 6 Cylinder engines in the YJ & TJ Wrangler, XJ Cherokee and MJ Commanche Pick Up's.
